Letter to Our Partner Churches 10/2005

The following is a letter to our partner churches in the USA from Rhodore Geronaga:

To our Partner-Churches,

Blessings and honor to Almighty God for allowing the CCMP organization to continue to help in the preaching of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ in the Philippines. CCMP is going on its 27th year of mission work as it tries to more productively use the resources available to it in the mission field.

Let me start with the CCMP Secretariat in Manila. We welcome aboard Bro. Rasty Sanoy as our new mission administrator, who is currently the preacher at the Seminary Hill Church of Christ at the MBS campus, replacing Bro. Ramon Doniza. He will work part time to assist & encourage the recipients and to liaise with CCMP Board of Directors in the US and the Advisory Committee in the Philippines.

In addition the Board of Directors, through the recommendation of the Advisory Committee, has identified the need to create a Liaison Officer to do more visitation of preacher-recipients and church planters in the field. It is also essential for the CCMP liaison to have contact with the local church leaderships in our effort to get well-rounded visitation reports. Bro. Ben Formales, a long-time roving preacher and elder at Cruzada Church of Christ, accepted our request for him to support the mission in this capacity.

We also thank the leadership of the CCMP Advisory Committee as they challenge the recipients to broaden their ministries with great ideas to be more effective, suggesting seminars or orientation on topics such as discipleship, or qualities of a good preacher – to enhance the minister’s moral and spiritual life.

Meanwhile, there are a lot of developments in our church-planting program.

1. The Evangelistic and Resource Ministry (EARM) team in Bicol Province is doing some pretty exciting things out there. They have now started a grade school in Impig, Sipocot, Camarines Sur. The name of the school is Bicol Christian Integrated Premier School. So far more than 30 students have enrolled and, according to the personnel, the school has attracted many non-believers around the school or church area. The EARM Team assures us that having the school does not mean that they have changed their focus in evangelism and church planting but rather they believe that this will soon be a means or tool in evangelism.

2. Samar Christian Mission reported that they continue to do evangelism, sharing the Word of God even in streets, market places and through house to house personal evangelism. They conducted medical missions and Daily Vacation Bible School (DVBS). They average 5 baptisms every three months.

3. Vision for Christ Ministry Team (VCM) is emphasizing Prayer and multiplying the small groups; also started a Sunday Worship in Bagong Nayon, Baliwag, Bulacan as their outreach. Bro. Glen Pintuan reported that they spent their summer very busy in sharing the Word of God through reaching out to the youth and getting involved in crusades in Laguna and Angeles City. Thus a new church was started in Purok 5, Tenejero, Candaba, Pampanga. He reports 25 souls being baptized.

4. Shore Line & Islands Mission, Inc. (SLIM) a team whose efforts are focused on different strategies. They are serving three churches: Lucena City Church of Christ, Sariaya Church of Christ and Gumaca Christian Mission. Cell group meetings regularly meet, and they have film showing with inspirational preaching, youth sports festival and others. Their Vacation Bible School Seminar was held in Lucena City reaching out to 63 students resulted positively.

There are many other activities to report from the 19 we currently have as preachers/ministers of the gospel (our regular recipients of support), situated in 14 provinces of Luzon and 5 provinces of the Visayas. A total of 5 students studying to become ministers of the gospel (our CCMP scholars) in partnership with the seminaries in the Philippines, are encouraging to us, proving that the CCMP scholarship program is accomplishing what it set out to do.

Looking closer to our local areas as the CCMP reaches out to our friends and have fellowship with members, we are glad to report that this year a potluck dinner March 26, 2005 for our first general meeting was hosted by Carson Christian Church, an Inter-Church Fellowship April 26, 20005 at Vista Del Rey Christian Church, followed by Mother’s Day Family Brunch May 7, 2005 at Diamond Canyon Christian Church were all well attended. We also had a lunch/picnic July 16, 2005 at Craig Regional Park, Fullerton, California where the board also had their monthly meeting. Lastly, everyone enjoyed the Family Summer Camp at Vail Lake Village & Resort, Temecula last August 18-21, 2005, where one feature was a film showing of “Tough Choices” about challenges facing young people.

On an occasional basis the CCMP choir has gone to visit our partner churches: lately the Carson Christian Church, East Anaheim Christian Church, the First Filipino American Christian Church, and a Fund Raising Fellowship Dinner for Philippine Christian Camp. Special thanks to the efforts of the music committee for their untiring efforts.

We thank each of the churches that have partnered with us in this missionary work to the Philippines. Your support is very important to the future of this Mission. Please continue to pray for us, the board of directors, and the men and women who work behind the scenes, giving up of their time, talent and resources to keep this Mission going for the Lord.

In the service of the King,

Rhodore Geronaga
Chairman, Board of Directors
