Letter to Our Partner Churches- August 2006
August 2006
To our Partner-Churches,
Blessings and honor to Almighty God for allowing the CCMP organization to continue to help in the preaching of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ in the Philippines. CCMP is going on its 28th year of mission work as it tries to more productively use the resources available to it in the mission field.
Let me start with the CCMP Secretariat in Manila. Rasty Sanoy, our mission administrator, has been a wonderful asset tot the CCMP. With his heart of service, encouragement, excellent communications, and prompt reporting, he has been the eyes and ears we have always needed. Rasty has been able to communicate the progress and needs of our preachers from all over the country. He has also been able to build and foster stronger communications and relationships between our CCMP Board of Directors and Advisory Committee. Rasty continues to help meet the life needs of our preachers and church planters and convey promptly to the CCMP Board those needs that require more assistance.
In just the first quarter of 2006, 129 souls were baptized from all preachers and church planters while more than 150 people were planted with the Gospel.
Meanwhile, there were steady developments in the church-planting program:
1. The Evangelistic and Resource Ministry (EARM) team in Bicol Province is has been able to reach out and baptize 19 people during the first quarter. 2. Samar Christian Mission reported that they continue to do evangelism, sharing the Word of God even in streets, market places and through house to house personal evangelism. They were able to turn 8 people lives around and baptize them during the 1st Quarter.
3. Vision for Christ Ministry Team (VCM) is emphasizing Prayer and multiplying the small groups; also started a Sunday Worship in Bagong Nayon, Baliwag, Bulacan as their outreach. First quarter is starting a little slow with three people committing their lives to Christ and getting baptize in the 1st quarter.
4. Shore Line & Islands Mission, Inc. (SLIM) a team whose efforts are focused on different strategies. They are serving three churches: Lucena City Church of Christ, Sariaya Church of Christ and Gumaca Christian Mission. During the first quarter, 28 souls gave their live to Christ.
There are many other activities to report from the 19 we currently have as
preachers/ministers of the gospel (our regular recipients of support), situated in 14 provinces of Luzon and 5 provinces of the Visayas. A total of 5 students studying to become ministers of the gospel (our CCMP scholars) in partnership with the seminaries in the Philippines, are encouraging to us, proving that the CCMP scholarship program is accomplishing what it set out to do.
Looking closer to our local areas as the CCMP reaches out to our friends and have fellowship with members, we are glad to report that this year’s general meeting and picnic will be on August 19th, 2006 at the Creekside Park in the city of Walnut, CA.
On an occasional basis the CCMP choir has gone to visit our partner churches: lately the Carson Christian Church, East Anaheim Christian Church, the First Filipino American Christian Church, and a Fund Raising Fellowship Dinner for Philippine Christian Camp. Special thanks to the efforts of the music committee for their untiring efforts.
We thank each of the churches that have partnered with us in this missionary work to the Philippines. Your support is very important to the future of this Mission. Please continue to pray for us, the board of directors, and the men and women who work behind the scenes, giving up of their time, talent and resources to keep this Mission going for the Lord.
